Custom Edge Profiles & Postform Edge Profiles
What is the difference in a custom profile and a postform profile?
-
Custom edge countertops are made from start to finish in our shop. They allow for a more customized countertop, especially for out of square areas.
-
We use sheets of laminate up to 60" wide x 144" long to cover the surface of the countertop
-
The front edge of the countertop is laminated separately
-
We can apply the edge profile to any side of your countertop
-
Separate, set on splashes can be included in any size from 1" up to full height size
-
We have more flexibility on seam locations, and always do our best to move the seam as far from your sink as possible
-
Materials are returnable with a restock fee, as long as production hasn't started
-
Postform profiles require the laminate to be heated and then applied to the substrate. This process requires a special postforming machine typically used in large scale factories
-
The postforming machines produce countertops in straight slabs, which are cut to size and assembled in our shop. Out of square areas can be more problematic since the slabs are perfectly straight.
-
Miter seams are required in each area the countertop changes direction.
-
Flat end caps are applied to open ends. Open ends will not have an edge profile.
-
Custom splash heights, special sized bars and islands require additional costs due to set up fees for the machinery.
-
Postform slabs are non-returnable and non-refundable once the order has been placed.
